Interview transcipts with stakeholders in government, NGOs and rural communities in Malawi (thesis data)

These interviews are exploring the use of government resettlement as a way to manage flooding in the Lower Shire Region of Malawi. Those interviewed in national and local government, and NGOs, are involved in facilitating the resettlement of three communities in the Lower Shire. The communities interviewed either have resettled (those at Jombo); have the opportunity to resettle, with assistance promised from one NGO (those at village Mwalija); or are vehemently opposed government resettlement (those at Nyachikadza. All community interviews occurred through a translator. I have attempted to anonymize these interviews, although, as the participants are aware, the role of the participant may give away their identity. All participants signified they were OK with this, and signed the participant consent form, prior to the interviews taking place.
