This research investigates how work performance and satisfaction with co-workers shape knowledge sharing among healthcare professionals in Slovenian public healthcare organisations. Using data from 220 respondents and applying Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) within the Input–Process–Output framework, the study demonstrates that both factors positively influence knowledge sharing, which in turn reduces turnover intention. Grounded in the Social Exchange Theory and the Knowledge-Based View, the findings emphasise the central role of interpersonal relationships in supporting knowledge retention and workforce stability. The results are relevant for broader European contexts, as Slovenian healthcare organisations share comparable institutional and structural characteristics.
