Structural data of agricultural holdings (from 01-04-2021)

Reporting year 2021. The Agricultural Statistical File (LSB) includes farm structure data. These include regular topics such as crops, animals, labour, and occasional and periodic subjects, such as housing, irrigation, widening activities, manure processing and storage, etc. The reference date for animal data is 1 April and for crop data 15 May. For further explanations on variables see questionnaire. NB: As of 2018, the number of veal calves, fattening pigs, chickens and turkeys will be adjusted for temporary vacancy on the reference date. The Agricultural census is a structural survey, in which a temporary vacancy adjustment is important for the determination of the type of farm and the economic size of the holdings. The regular variables for the number of animals have therefore been adjusted in the case of vacancy at the reference date for the species concerned. For the size of the herds, the number of animals at the reference date is important, so the relevant animal species also include the animal numbers, which have not been adjusted for temporary vacancy (these variables have a P in the name instead of a point). Several plausibility checks are carried out, including min/max comparisons, outlier detection, trend analysis and comparison with last year’s report. There is only unit imputation, no item imputation. Completeness check shall be carried out during the declaration. Declaration is mandatory on the basis of the Agriculture Act. Unit-imputation is (under certain conditions) based on the declaration of the previous reporting year. Corresponding variables are taken over from the previous year. New variables are imputed from the current year’s tasks, using next-neighbour method (based on SO and company type). ### Population Agricultural holdings with a minimum size of EUR 3000 Standard Revenue.
