After the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico changes were detected in the microbial communities. There’s a little information about the microbial communities from southern regions of the Gulf of Mexico and it important to know its structure in case of future ecological disasters. In this study we take samples from marine sediments and analyzed it using shotgun sequencing.
