Olympic Winter Games in Italy (2026-02-06)

The Winter Olympic Games were held from 6 to 22 February 2026 in several locations in northern Italy. The event attracted 2–3 million people in less than two weeks, and several permanent and temporary infrastructures were built to support this exceptional influx of visitors. The Lombardy Regional Civil Protection Agency requested the assistance of Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping to provide emergency mapping for the delineation of the new infrastructure network, of new buildings that hosted the events, and of new transportation to support possible evacuation routes.
