Soil structure (Pawn), version 1, 2006

The file provides information about the soil-physical stratification in the soil profile up to about 1.20 meters depth. There are 23 different units. Each unit represents a soil profile with a specific layering. Soil physical characteristics from the Staring series can be linked to the individual soil layers in the soil profile. The location of these units is derived from the Soil Map of the Netherlands, scale 1: 50 000. For this purpose, the units of the soil map are clustered to the 23 different soil-physical units. The classification was initially developed in 1985 on the basis of the units of the Soil Map of the Netherlands, scale 1: 250 000 for the PAWN studies (Policy Analysis for the Water Management of the Netherlands)
