Supporting data for “Isotopic investigation of wildlife trade: composition, pathways, and health implications of pangolin trafficking

Stable isotope analysis (SIA) was used on seized pangolin material to investigate pangolin trafficking. Different pangolin species were compared based on their geographic ranges and habitats they use. Samples with data available on "estimated" geographic origins were used to look into patterns of the trade and whether we could investigate geographic origins using SIA. Stable isotope values were also compared across different pangolin tissues, where any change could be indicative of a change in diet/water source/location/health somewhere during the trafficking process.All analyses were carried out using the R environment for statistical computing (R 4.4.0 GUI 1.82 High Sierra build, R Core Team, 2025) with R studio interface (R Studio, Inc.). R scripts are provided.
