Microsatellite genotypes of Tribolium castaneum populations in West Africa: nine loci, 420 individuals

Microsatellite genotype dataset of Tribolium castaneum (Herbst) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) from seven West African localities (Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger), sampled on two host commodities, millet and rice. A total of 420 individuals (30 per locality and host commodity) were genotyped at nine polymorphic microsatellite loci. The data underlie the study of neutral population genetic structure and isolation by environment in West African T. castaneum.
