D5 2 Inter Urban Distances

First published in February 2020, updated in March 2020. Straight line distances in metres [m] from each sEEnergies Urban Area centre point, defined by OpenStreetMap (osm) place points and where not available by centroids, to the nearest Urban Area centre points, belonging to larger size classes. For the classification, the population was aggregated using the GHS population raster (JRC, 2016) and for Ireland population data from the Census 2011 Small Area Population Statistics (Irish Central Statistics Office) distributed using the European Settlement Map (ESM) 2012 - Release 2017, 100m resolution, published by JRC.The Urban Areas were generated from CORINE Land Cover (CLC) 2018 data and consider NUTS3 administrative boundaries 2016 (Eurostat/GISCO). For each Urban Area the Urban Area ID and its assigned place name as well as its size class are given. For additional information please refer to the D5.2 report.
