资源简介:
The data provided here are outputs from the CESM2 model intended for investigating the impacts of the anomalous 2019 wildfire smoke on stratospheric ozone variations in the 2019-2020 period. The results represent the ensemble median from the following three model experiments:FIRE19: A 20-member ensemble simulation in which 2019 summer wildfire smoke is injected from the surface up to 12 km height, as constrained by CALIOP observations. Total fire emissions are based on GFED4s.CLIM: A climatological run spanning 2000–2023 driven by GFED4s emissions, with all fire emissions injected from the surface to 5 km height.NOBB: A simulation from 2000 to 2023 with fire emissions excluded. For each of these experiments, paired simulations were performed to separate the "dynamical" and “chemical” impacts of wildfire smoke: one uses the default stratospheric chemistry scheme in WACCM; and the other employs an updated stratospheric chemistry scheme following Solomon et al., Nature 2023 (see ‘mo_strato_rates.F90’ for details). All data are provided as monthly averages, covering the period from June of the preceding year to May of the following year. Data for FIRE19 experiment refer to the June/2019-May/2020 period, and the results for CLIM and NOBB experiments are not for a specific year. Variables are named in the format: $vars_$chem_$exptWhere:$expt indicates the experiment (FIRE19, CLIM, NOBB)$chem indicates the chemistry scheme (default or updated)$vars includes the following variables:ExtCoe: Aerosol extinction coefficient at 550 nmSAOD: Stratospheric aerosol optical depth at 550 nmAOD: Aerosol optical depth at 550 nmO3: O3 mixing ratioTCO: Total column ozoneT: TemperaturePV: Potential vorticityThe code provided here is a modified version of the stratospheric aerosol chemistry scheme in WACCM, which allows organic aerosols to affect the O3-depletion reactions following Solomon et al., Nature 2023. The code has been tested with the CESM2.1.3 version. For any further questions, please contact Dr. Qirui Zhong (qrzhong@pku.edu.cn)
