Data and Code for: Sequential Protest Formation

This repository contains the data and code used in the study “Sequential Protest Formation.” The study examines how individuals decide whether to participate in a protest when participation is costly, opportunities to join arrive stochastically over time, and protest success depends on reaching a participation threshold. The analysis combines event-level data from the Global Database of Events, Language, and Tone (GDELT) with a theoretical model and simulations to study the timing of protest participation. The replication package includes code to process the data, run the simulations, and reproduce the figures reported in the paper.<br>
