资源简介:
This interview is part of the Women, Risk and Aids Project (1989-90) archive which was created as part of the Reanimating Data Project (2018-20).<br>Anonymised transcript of an interview with Gail, 30. She is going through a divorce at the moment. When considering future sexual partners and AIDS protection, she is confident that she would use condoms and sees it as her own responsibility to protect herself - she is happy to purchase her own condoms, and thinks that young women should not face any stigma around carrying their own condoms. AIDS education was gained through television programmes, which she thought focused too heavily on AIDS in the context of gay men. She believes young women have a fairly ignorant attitude towards AIDS protection, in that they don't believe they will be caught out. Gail had no sex education at school and has had to rely on her own 'common sense', which she imparts on her son.
