Source mapping 2013: Reichenstein West/Nord, Lugauer Süd/East, Tuffquellen Johnsbach

This report covers the mapping of the springs in the area of the Reichenstein and the Lugauer. These springs are located outside the National Park, but mostly source their water from this area. In these two peripheral areas of the National Park — the western Reichenstein Group and the southern and eastern Lugauer Group, no systematic source recordings have been carried out so far. 123 sources were located by GPS and examined in terms of water type, temperature and conductivity. The individual mapping areas are described in terms of location and geomorphology. A number of sources are very promising from an ecological point of view. These include mainly tuff springs that can be found in the Johnsbachtal and the Faschinggraben (Radmerbach).
