资源简介:
This paper investigates the narratives around the green credit program and its implementation. The research addresses three research questions exploring a) the global definition and understanding of ‘Green Credit’ policy, b) the power dynamics of various stakeholders involved in the implementation of green credit policies, and c) the possibility of symbolism in the execution. To answer these questions, the research employs Critical Discourse Analysis of 218 narratives (policy documents, media articles, and LinkedIn posts). Through its analysis, the research proposes a model, ‘Sustainability vs. Symbolism’, explaining the process involved in executing the green credit policies, the role of each stakeholder involved, and how these actors’ roles may lead to symbolic actions. The research contributes to practical and societal implications by addressing a pertinent issue of greenwashing in green credit policy deployment.
