As part of the established integrated genomic surveillance (IGS) of SARS-CoV-2, genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 is carried out at the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). The samples come from members of the IMSSC2 Laboratory Network, a project of the RKI and diagnostic laboratories from all over Germany. The IMSSC2 laboratory network provides an overview of the SARS-CoV-2 variants circulating in Germany.
