National Forests

According to section 12 of the Forestry Act, forest is considered as a conservation forest when it serves as a protection for other forests or provides protection against natural damage. The same applies to areas up to the mountain or out towards the sea where the forest is vulnerable and can be destroyed by improper forest treatment. The County Governor’s Agricultural Department is responsible for mapping the conservation forest boundaries. Vernskog has been collected and is available for the areas where data is submitted digitally by the County Governor’s Agricultural Department.
