Australian Films in the 1970s

This is a collection of materials held at the AFI Research Collection (AFIRC) that relate directly to Australian films screened from 1970-1979. This period of time in Australian film is important as production accelerated greatly and for the first time in many years Australian films were regularly strong box office performers, as well as being critically lauded both in Australia and overseas. Most of the items held in this collection are clippings files, with other items including books, scripts, posters, journal articles and ephemera.
