Located Earthquakes Aurora Hydrothermal Vent 2022-2023 Deployment

The dataset includes information about the 12516 located, well-constrained events from the 2022-2023 Aurora hydrothermal vent ocean bottom seismometer deplyoment (network code: 4V). The events cover the deplyoment period of 11 months and were recorded by 8 ocean bottom seismometers around the Aurora hydrothermal vent field with a station spacing of 2-7 km. Earthquakes were automatically picked using PhaseNet, and partially manually picked / re-picked. Automatic events were assoicated using the GaMMA phase associator. Events for location were chosen to have at least 3 P phase and 3 S phase picks and were located using NonLinLoc with the GAU_ANALYTICAL inversion scheme. Well-constrained events were required to have a location root mean square residual ≤ 0.15 s, a distance between hypocenter and expectation hypocenter ≤ 2 km, and an average error ellispoid axes length ≤ 3 km. Amplitudes were automatically picked with SEISANs Automag function. Local magnitudes were calculated using the hypocentral distance.
