Chlorophyll is the primary pigment for photosynthesis in phytoplankton, including chlorophyll a, b, c, d and others. Among them, chlorophyll a is the most dominant one, widely present in phytoplankton, and its concentration serves as an important and direct indicator reflecting the phytoplankton content in water bodies. This dataset contains chlorophyll concentration observation data collected during the 12th Chinese Arctic Scientific Expedition in 2021. It is of great significance for understanding the processes, mechanisms and capacities of CO2 absorption and transport in the Arctic and its adjacent seas, grasping the biogeochemical characteristics of phytoplankton in specific Arctic sea areas, and exploring their contributions to global climate change as well as their impacts on China's climate and marine environment. 1.
