Isolation and characterization of 14 Enterococcus faecalis infecting bacteriophages

Enterococcus faecalis infecting bacteriophage were isolated from wastewater samples collected from around the state of Texas. The bacteriophage were tested for growth inhibition and biofilm reduction of two orally derived Enterococcus faecalis strains available through ATCC. The goal of this project is to develop phage therapies to treat endodontic and other oral infections caused by Enterococcus faecalis.
