This series consists of the transcripts of proceedings of the Royal Commission into Off-The-Course Betting and matters pertaining to the legalisation of betting.The hearings of the Royal Commission into Off-The-Course Betting began on 10 October 1958 and ended on 18 October 1958. The transcripts provide a true and accurate record of all hearings conducted by the Royal Commission. For each session of proceedings, the actual transcript is preceded by a cover page, providing details of the session's day, date, Commissioner's name (Fred Russell Beaucamp Martin) and people present.The P1 consignment contains volumes 4 and 5. Woodward, who was appointed to assist the Royal Commission.The P3 consignment contains volumes 6 and 8. These volumes were referenced by the Commissioner. Volume 8 also contains a summary and index at the back of the volume. The summary consists of the themes that were investigated in the Royal Commission and appears to be the preliminary report of the Commission. The index provides page reference numbers to the themes in the summary.The P4 consignment contains volume 3.
