Dataset for: A pseudochromosomal reference genome of the golden jackal, Canis aureus

The dataset presented here is the accompanying dataset for the genome report "A pseudochromosomal reference genome of the golden jackal, Canis aureus." In this report, we are presenting the first and highly contiguous reference genome assembly for the golden jackal Canis aureus. PacBio HiFi reads were used in hifiasm to assemble a draft assembly, and RagTag was used to scaffold the contigs into pseudochromosomal scaffolds using the Mexican Wolf as a reference. The final assembly was annotated using the NCBI Eukaryotic Genome Annotation Pipeline (EGAP).
