Sum of organized retail space across selected cities in India in 2019

Organized retail occupied a total space of 23.7 million square feet in India's capital Delhi in 2019. Delhi was therewith far ahead of other major cities such as Kolkata. Organized retail occupies a comparable small space as the majority of India's retail trade takes place in unorganized, so called kirana stores.
