VPRS 4689 Journals

This series comprises journals, which facilitated the posting to the relevant ledgers of credit and debit transactions relating to the various functions of the City of Camberwell. From these journals, transactions were posted to various Council accounts, including the municipal fund account, street accounts and trust account.Entries are most commonly categorised as Expenditure or Receipts. The journals contain a brief description of each item, and the amount. The entries also contain references to what appear to be folio numbers in cash books or journals: these are recorded as, for example, J23, L44, M32, etc.
