Strontium (Sr), which can perform the dual action in promoting bone formation and inhibiting bone resorption, is found mainly in the bone. It has been used for evaluating the gastrointestinal calcium (Ca) absorption capacity of the dairy cows. However, the possible effects of Sr on the body organs remain unclear. The study aimed to explore the potential regulatory mechanism of Sr in the bovine chondrocytes by applying the transcriptomic and proteomic analyses.
