资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through their various classes and the date of their leaving the school. The series from Dungog Central School is currently represented by one volume, in which are recorded admissions to the school's Secondary Department, known as the High School, from 1951 until 1961. This volume contains information pertaining to each pupil, including: date of admission, pupil's name, date of birth, religious denomination and name of previous school. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school is also recorded. Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission until the end of 1954, and again from the beginning of 1958, but in the period 1955 - 1957 no distinction is made between the sexes as they are entered. No further admissions were entered in this volume after the end of 1961, but it continued to be used to record the progress and withdrawal of pupils through the three grades of secondary teaching then offered by Dungog Central School until the beginning of 1964.Admission registers in paper format ceased in 1999 when the department moved to recording enrolment details in electronic format.
