Principle component analysis (PCA), based on Faprotax functional prediction, showed that planting wheat or maize had different effects on the soil microbial community function. The number of connections processed and the average connectivity (avgK) of each node increased with HSR and SR, compared with CK, indicating that returned straw increased the interaction between microorganisms, resulting in a more complex network structure. The HSR treatment can significantly increase the diversity of species in the soil to meet the nutritional demands for crop growth, while the remaining straw can be used for whole silage feed or biomass energy, to increase the income of farmers.
