At-sea positions of foraging trips and associated environmental data from GPS loggers attached to Wilson's Storm-petrels (Oceanites oceanicus), breeding on King George Island

This dataset consists of a file containing the at-sea positions of Wilson's Storm-petrels (Oceanites oceanicus) along with environmental factors (distance to the nearest seamount, distance to the nearest shelf break, bed depth, sea-ice concentration and Antarctic Krill Euphausia superba habitat suitability) and R scripts. The main objective of the tracking study was to provide a first insight into the spatial ecology, particularly foraging ecology, of Wilson's Storm-petrels during their breeding season (incubation and chick-rearing phases). The environmental variables were downloaded from other datasets and matched with our GPS positions. Seamount locations were obtained from Yesson et al. 2011, PANGAEA (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.757563). Shelf break data from Amblas 2018, PANGAEA (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.890863). Bed depth data from Dorschel et al. 2022, PANGAEA (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.937574) and Antarctic Krill habitat suitability model data from Teschke et al. 2019, PANGAEA (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.899667). Sea-ice concentration data was downloaded from the University of Bremen (www.seaice.uni-bremen.de, index of AMSR2 asi daygrid swath s6250 with no land mask).
