Data Seal of Approval (DSA)

The Data Seal of Approval (DSA) is a certification for repositories which in 2018 together with the ICSU Word Data System (WDS) was merged into CoreTrustSeal (https://www.coretrustseal.org/about/). The Data Seal of Approval gives data producers the assurance that their data and associated materials will be stored in a reliable manner and can be reused. It provides funding bodies with the confidence that data will remain available for reuse and their investments will not be lost. It also enables data consumers to assess repositories where data are held and supports data repositories in archiving and distribution data efficiently.
The dataset provided in EASY serves the purpose to carry out research on data management and its standards as custom at organizations around the world. It contains the totality of seals granted to organizations, supplemented by documentation about the application and review process, the archived official website of DSA and information about the development and maintenance of DSA.
