We here established a model of enhanced remote atherosclerosis after renal ischemia reperfusion injury and investigated the underlying inflammatory mechanisms. Overall design: Male LDLr-/- mice were subjected to unilateral ischemia reperfusion (IR) or control (ctrl.) surgery followed by a high fat diet for three or ten weeks.
