Dataset for Stepwise Moodle-Based Mathematics Assessment and Psychometric Analysis

This dataset accompanies the article “Development of Testing Methodology in Mathematics Education in the Context of Digitalisation”. It contains anonymised, normalised scores used to reproduce the Classical Test Theory analyses reported in Section 4. The archive includes:(1) normalised scores for the full four-task Moodle-based mathematics test battery (Tasks A–D),(2) detailed normalised substep scores for Task C as a representative example of stepwise psychometric task decomposition,(3) a supplementary PDF with visual examples of the Moodle-based mathematical tasks. The data were collected from 117 first-year engineering students enrolled in the first semester of a three-semester Higher Mathematics course at the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, during the 2025–2026 academic year. All task scores are normalised to the interval [0,1]. Student identifiers were pseudonymized before export. The dataset contains no personal or sensitive student information. The files directly reproduce the descriptive statistics, reliability coefficients, item-rest correlations, and substep-level psychometric analyses reported in Tables 1–4 and Figures 9–10 of the manuscript. This dataset is intended to support transparency, reproducibility, and reuse of the proposed stepwise Moodle-based mathematics assessment methodology.
