资源简介:
This study was designed to explore the career patterns of Radcliffe Alumni from the Class of 1969, at two ten year intervals (1979, 1990), to assess work commitment, the different elements of it, factors associated with it, and how work commitment changed over time.

The 1990 questionnaire was completed by 149 women, 99 of which had also completed the 1979 questionnaire. The questionnaires include both open-ended and precoded questions on family background, current family status, education and occupation, career planning, career patterns, work experiences, beliefs/attitudes, and work force participation patterns. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with a representative subsample of nine participants to provide a more qualitative perspective on these women's experiences as one of the first generations of women to assume life-long employment, to enter male-dominated fields in large numbers and to postpone child-rearing.

The Murray Archive holds additional analogue materials for this study (copies of the transcribed interviews, the original paper questionnaires from 1979 and 1990). If you would like to access this material, please apply to use the data.
