Diplodia sapinea and associated mycobiome in Scots pine within Diplodia tip blight affected regions in Finland.

Diplodia sapinea has appeared as a new pathogen of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) in Finland. The amplicon sequencing showed that abundance of D. sapinea (quantified as the number of reads) was higher in the healthy tissues of symptomatic shoots compared to totally healthy shoots. Similarly, the abundance was higher in samples collected from coastal areas in Southwestern Finland, which are the most heavily impacted by this disease.
