On-board expendable bathythermograph (XBT) measurements were taken in the Northern Gulf of Mexico from October 27-28, 2015 aboard the R/V Pelican while collecting visual and acoustic data. A Lockheed Martin Sippican MK21 with a hand-held launcher was used to collect temperature profiles for sound speed profile calculation.
