Transcriptomic profiling of Pacific oysters (Magallana gigas) under control conditions (23C, fed ad libitum), in three ages (4, 16 and 28 month olds), DECICOMP project

Pacific oysters (Magallana gigas) experience significant mortalities due to Pacific Oyster Mortality Syndrome (POMS). The DECICOMP project investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying disease permissivity by evaluating the impact of temperature, diet, and age. In this study, two families (F14R and H2D) of 3-, 16- and 28-month-old were maintained under permissive conditions (23C, fed ad libitum). Infection by cohabitationwas carried out for each age group with sampling at 0h (Basal), 3h, 6h, 12h, 24h. Each sample is whole organisme with six biological replicates. RNA-Seq was performed on extracted total RNA using an Illumina NextSeq 550 platform.
