资源简介:
The Argentine brown bat (Eptesicus furinalis) is a cinnamon-dorsal, darker ventral small-to-medium sized bat in the vesper bat genus Eptesicus, native to grassland and forested highlands from southern Mexico through Central America down into Brazil and northern Argentina, including La Pampa, typically roosting in tree bark or rock crevices at elevations above 1,000 m. It is insectivorous - hunting moths, beetles, and butterflies using echolocation over moist areas - breeds year-round with peak during the rainy season (females can store sperm for up to three months), and is classified as Least Concern by the IUCN (from Wikipedia entry). This sample of a female individual found in Lamanai, Belize was procured by Nancy Simmons to generate a high-quality genome for the Bat1K project and the Bat Biology Foundation. Sequencing was conducted at Paratus Sciences and genome assembly was conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
