Detailed water body

A surface water body is defined as a uniform and significant section of a surface water. Surface water bodies serve as planning instruments: For the planning process, i.e. for assessing the impact of water pollution, risk analysis, monitoring, progressive achievement of targets, planning of measures, etc., surface waters must be divided into meaningful sections of water. The bodies of water form the smallest management unit in surface waters to which the statements of the inventory, monitoring and action programmes refer. The data level is in line with the 2015 National Water Management Plan (NGP) and will be updated as appropriate after the publication of the NGP 2021.
