Comparative Transcriptome Analysis of The Different Photoperiod Sensitive of Oat under The Short Day Photoperiod Condition

In our study, we used photoperiod-insensitive and photoperiod-sensitive oat cultivars as materials, and observe the developmental stages of two oat cultivars under the short day photoperiod. To reveal the mechanism for photoperiod insensitivity in VAO-8, we analyze the transcriptomic differences between VAO-8 and Baiyan 2 using RNA-sequencing technology. Our results provided new insights into the photoperiod insensitivity of VAO-8 and reveal the molecular mechanism of several genes involved in the short day photoperiod, which could provide a theoretical guidance for oat breeding of daylength insensitive cultivars which flower normally over a wide range of latitudes.
