NPDB Medical Malpractice Payments — Aggregated Dataset (2000–2025)

A structured aggregation of 529,804 medical malpractice payment reports filed with the U.S. National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) between 2000 and 2025, totaling $136.4 billion in payments. This dataset aggregates the NPDB Public Use File (published by HRSA) into four CSV tables: by state, by year, by payment bracket, and overall summary. All underlying data is in the public domain; this release provides the processed aggregations used in the Settlement Insight research study.
