The FranceArchives portal carries out processing on [index locations from research instruments](https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/r/4a185b82-ca57-4d63-a422-b9d0f4afc9ca) XML-EAD that it aggregates. These indexes are transformed into authorities with perennial URLs, are automatically or individually aligned and grouped (i.e. merged when they designate the same geographical entity). In the GeoName folder, a CSV file per archive service contains, for each location authority (LocationAuthority): · information about the starting index provided by the archival service (geogname): URL, labeled. · information about the corresponding entity in the GeoNames database (GeoNames): URL, label, geographical coordinates. In the BANO folder, a CSV file per archive service contains, for each location authority (LocationAuthority): · information about the starting index provided by the archival service (geogname): URL, labeled. · Information about the corresponding entity in the National Address Base (BAN): identifier, label, geographical coordinates. Note: the same place authority (LocationAuthority) can be found in the CSV file of several services, indeed it can be shared by several services.
