Security Ops: A Hardened GNU Guix System for Sovereign Computing

This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of a custom GNU Guix system config-uration named Security Ops, designed for high-trust, privacy-respecting computing.Built on the Guix declarative model, it integrates the Xanmod kernel with Kernel SelfProtection Project (KSPP) flags, a strict NFTables firewall, Mullvad VPN routing, Torproxying, and over 1000 lines of curated packages and services. The system is com-pared against leading privacy-focused operating systems including Tails, Qubes OS,and Whonix, and evaluated for its security posture, reproducibility, and suitability forsovereign digital infrastructure.
