Coastal habitat restoration at Iluka Nature Reserve and Bundjalung National Park Project 2

The Green Army will implement stage 2 of ecological restoration works, including control of serious weed threats, improving the condition of littoral rainforest (EPBC Act) in World Heritage listed Iluka Nature Reserve. The team will work with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and Iluka Landcare Dunecare Group to plant native trees and control weeds in adjoining Bundjalung National Park. This will improve the condition of native vegetation including habitat for threatened species. Community environmental awareness and participation in environmental conservation will be increased through a field day, promotion in the local media and by regularly working alongside Iluka Landcare Dunecare Group.
