Global Ocean Station Data from CTD/STD Stations

The principal parameters are temperature and salinity; O2, PO4, PO, NO2, NO3,
PH, SI and another 16 parameters may be recorded, as well as weather
condition. Values of sound velocity, sigma-t, dynamic depth anomaly,
thermosteric anomaly and specific volume are computed These are classical
oceanographic bottle samples, taken from stations, over the global
ocean, and dating back as far as 1906.

Oceanographic data are available at discrete depth and standard depth
(interpolated), including data observed under the framework of the IOC-WESTPAC
project. These data are published in CSK, KER-DATA Report, an Oceanographic
Atlas for JRK and Serial Station Data Catalogue annually.

In addition STD casts (1,952 stations, dating back to 1979) and CTD
casts (14,250 stations, dating back to 1983) are available with
temperature and salinity data. The STD/CTD reported to JODC at depth
levels equivalent to Nansen cast data (serial station data) have been
processed and stored the same as serial station data.

Data in these files are available as copies of specified data subsets
on magnetic tapes, floppy disks,CD-ROMs or printed form.
