This project will focus the hot springs located in Yunnan province, China, and propose to study the following aspects: Firstly, we intend to reveal what carbon fixation pathways and related elemental cycling steps exist in investigating hot springs by through barcoded sequencing of functional genes ; Secondly, the correlations between fixation pathways and elements cycling steps will be detected based on the biostatistics analysis to investigate, the aims of this project are to investigate 1) the composition and distribution of functional microorganisms associated with carbon and nitrogen cycling; 2) the differences functional lineages among different geothermal regions; and 3) the influences of environmental variables on the functional microbial community structure.
