Insects Population in Wood lot and in Grass land

Introduction: There are several ways to measure and identified species in a particular geographical areas. In order to identify the species present in a geographical area, proper experiment has to be organized and more data have to be taken. By collecting as much of data, errors can be minimized. In this particular experiment each groups were performed four different methods to collect data of species present in a particular wood lot and grassland. The data presented in this particular report was collected from woodlot quadrat and grassland quadrat. In this experiment reported, various insects’ species were observed and listed as they occupy each quadrat. Method: A particular woodlot and grassland were selected by the TA. Both grassland and woodlot were located right beside to each other. First of all, quadrat was placed on the grass land randomly and observed for a minute exactly. Number of species and types of species of insects were observed and listed during that time period. Species flying over the quadrat and also moving/staying on the grass land were observed accordingly and listed on the tables provided. Same procedure was repeated for woodlot species. Error: There could be several errors occurred during this experiment. All the measurements were taken by observing quadrats. There could be more insects weren’t observed by mistake and could be left out from listing. Conclusion: By collecting the data from lots of individuals would minimize the errors which possibly occurred at this types of experiments.
