Spatial dataset of flood disaster events in Yunnan Province from 1950 to 2020

Flood disaster is one of the major meteorological disasters with high frequency in Yunnan Province, often accompanied by landslides and debris flows, which seriously threaten the safety of people's lives and property. This study fully collected various literature materials, sorted out the flood disaster events information in Yunnan Province from 1950 to 2020 on different spatial scales, and constructed a spatio-temporal dataset of flood disaster events in Yunnan Province according to the geospatial data specification. This dataset contains: (1) Catalog of flood disaster events in Yunnan Province (county and district level); (2) Catalog of flood disaster events in Yunnan Province (township level); (3) Spatial distribution data of flood disaster events in Yunnan Province (county and district level); (4) Spatial distribution data of flood disaster events in Yunnan Province (township level). This long time series dataset can meet the needs of flood disaster related research on different temporal and spatial scales in Yunnan Province, and provide data support and scientific basis for disaster prevention and mitigation.
