CN (Combined Nomenclature) Description: The CN is the European version of the Harmonised System (HS). It is composed of 8-digit numerically coded positions. The large number of subdivisions are adapted to the specific EU customs and external trade statistical needs. The CN is revised annually. The versions of the CN are always linked to the respective year (e.g. CN 2008 applies to the year 2008).
