Data are created by NEK5000, which is a non-hydrostatic, spectral element numerical solver for Navier-Stokes equation. The data contain finite-scale Lyapunov exponent (FSLE) of particles that are released into internal waves to investigate the material dispersion produced by internal waves that satisfy the Garrett-Munk spectrum. This dataset includes the results of three simulations; (1) using a linearly stratified fluid, (2) an upper mixed layer and (3) incorporates a circular front into the upper mixed layer. The material dispersion was measured in terms of relative dispersion and FSLE using neutrally buoyant particles. For this dataset, only the results for one depth (D1-65m) and one group of particles is presented. This dataset supports the publication: Wang, P., Özgökmen, T. M., & Haza, A. C. (2018).
