The experimental approach gradient profiling by sequencing (Grad-Seq) has been established in Salmonella to detect RNA binding proteins by whole proteome and transcriptome wide cofractionation analysis after ultracentrifugation of a whole cell lysate on a linear density gradient. Here, we applied this approach to the cyanobacterial model organism Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 to gain new insights in the landscape of cyanobacterial RNA-protein interactions.
