资源简介:

The first article of a series describing a new evolutionary theory. The theory has two aspects, firstly that mechanisms of somatic feedback into the developing germline influence the mutational process - the inheritance of acquired evolvability of traits, and secondly, that the repetitive genomic landscape is both sculpted by, and forms the fabric of, a modular evolutionary process that allows individual subnetworks, or traits, to evolve independently of one another even when the components of these subnetworks are located far from each other in the genome. Together they provide a new view of evolution. This article introduces the theory. Further articles will go into more detail about aspects of the theory and provide evidence for it.
